ಹುಲ್ಲಾಗು ಬೆಟ್ಟದಡಿ, ಮನೆಗೆ ಮಲ್ಲಿಗೆಯಾಗು । ಕಲ್ಲಾಗು ಕಷ್ಟಗಳ ಮಳೆಯ ವಿಧಿ ಸುರಿಯೆ ॥ ಬೆಲ್ಲ ಸಕ್ಕರೆಯಾಗು ದೀನದುರ್ಬಲರಿಂಗೆ । ಎಲ್ಲರೊಳಗೊಂದಾಗು - ಮಂಕುತಿಮ್ಮ ॥ ೭೮೯ ॥

ನೀನು, ಬೆಟ್ಟದಡಿ ದನಕರುಗಳಿಗೆ ಮೇವಾಗುವಂತಹ ಹುಲ್ಲಾಗು, ನಿನ್ನ ಮನೆಗೆ ಸುವಾಸನಾಭರಿತವಾದ ಮಲ್ಲಿಗೆಯ ಹೂವಂತಾಗು, ವಿಧಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಬದುಕಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕಷ್ಟಗಳನ್ನು ಮಳೆಯಂತೆ ಸುರಿದರೆ, ನೀ ಕಲ್ಲಂತೆ ಗಟ್ಟಿಯಾಗಿ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಎದುರಿಸು , ದೀನರಿಗೆ ದುರ್ಬಲರಿಗೆ ನೀನು ಬೆಲ್ಲದಂತಾಗು, ಎಲ್ಲರೊಳು ಒಂದಾಗು ಎಂದು ಸ್ವಾರಸ್ಯಕರ ಬದುಕಿನ ಗುಟ್ಟನ್ನು ನಮಗೆ ಅರುಹಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಮಾನ್ಯ ಗುಂಡಪ್ಪನವರು ಈ ಮುಕ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ.
